Happy Halloween from Dunn Orthodontics!

October 31st, 2019

Can you believe it’s already October? I don’t know about you, but our office is ready to welcome all things spooky.  At Dunn Orthodontics we enjoy getting in the Halloween spirit so much that we’ve already got all our decor up and our costumes planned. The votes are in from our Facebook poll, and this year my staff and I will dress up as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It’s going to be tough to beat my tooth fairy costume! That was my favorite costume to date.

I can’t wait to see the creative costumes my patients come in as! There’s nothing quite like the excitement that children have when they are dressed up as their favorite characters. The first costume I remember from my childhood is a pirate costume from when I was 7. What’s a costume from childhood you remember?

As with almost every holiday, there’s always something delicious to look forward to. For Halloween, it’s all the great candy options. My personal favorite? Snickers. Candy doesn’t get much better than the delicious combination of chocolate and caramel.

In addition to the costumes, the candy, and the decor, there are so many great movies, too. I like to keep it funny rather than scary, so my favorite movie to watch to ring in Halloween is Young Frankenstein.

A memory I have from a Halloween past is carrying my young children through the snow during the blizzard of 1991. What a time! What are some of your memorable moments from a past Halloween?

We will host our annual Candy Buy Back on Monday, November 4th in both our locations again this year. We will buy kids unwanted candy back at $1/lb. All candy collected will be donated to the local Ronald McDonald house. And whichever local school collectively brings in the most pounds of candy will receive $1000 donation from our practice.

We can’t wait to see the costumes that you all come up with.  Don’t forget to take care of your braces and brush extra well if you’re indulging in Halloween treats! My team and I look forward to seeing you in the office.
